Recap: Blogger Positivity Campaign

As a blogger returning from a hiatus (albeit a short one), Jillian's Blogger Positivity Campaign was a great reminder of why I love blogging. This campaign helped me to reflect back on my 3 years of blogging and understand why I started out in the first place. Today's post is recap of the campaign and I will be highlighting some of my favorite moments from the event.

WHAT I LEARNED

• We need diverse blogging voices so don't be afraid to be yourself. While I understand that finding one's blogging voice is much easier than done, it is possible so we just need to keep working on it. 

Insta-Love on the big screen

What is insta-love?

Love at first sight aka Insta-Love is a common trope used in both literature and film where a character feels romantically attracted to a complete stranger at first sight.



These authors say it best:

Do you believe in insta-love?

Insta-attraction? Yes. But insta-love? Not really. But let's agree to disagree shall we?

Today I'll be showcasing some movies both animated and live action that use this trope. Surprisingly, there seems to be a LOT of movies where the protagonists experiences instantaneous attraction for their love interests. And despite the unrealistic nature of this concept a lot of people(myself included) seem to ADORE these movies.

May - Monthly Wrap Up

May was a pretty slow month on the blog compared to April. Both Rachel and I went through a few changes career-wise so we were unable to interact with our readers and other bloggers. Rachel started her internship, I switched jobs and we had to organize the Indie Self-Published Author Event for June so yep, it has been a crazy month! But we definitely enjoyed reading/reviewing our newly acquired books and talking to kick ass authors and great readers/bloggers! 

Stats-wise: Lots of new followers so welcome, we hope you guys are having fun! Thank you so much for all the lovely e-mails, blog post comments, tweets, Goodreads and Facebook messages(553 Likes-Yay!). We might not have had time to return your thoughts but trust me we both loved each and everyone of them! :)

Indie-Self Published Author Event June 2013

Before I began blogging the terms 'Indie and Self-Published Authors' meant nothing to me. But in the past few months I've been lucky enough to meet and work with a lot of people from this amazing community! They are fun, professional and talented individuals. They are easy to work with and so far I have never had issues with any of them. 

So I've decided to do a little something to help connect these Indie and Self Published Authors with other book bloggers and readers.

Throughout the month of June, we will be hosting a bunch of these great authors as a part of the Indie and Self Published Author Event. Our ultimate goal in hosting this event is to spread the word about all those awesome undiscovered books.

Authors: If you'd like to participate in this event please sign-up using the Google Doc form given below and we will contact you as soon as possible. You can sign up for a maximum of 3 features(i.e. review, guest post, interview, giveaway, promo etc.)

*Please note that although we'd love to include everybody that's not possible so signing up does not guarantee a spot in the event.
