Recap: Blogger Positivity Campaign

As a blogger returning from a hiatus (albeit a short one), Jillian's Blogger Positivity Campaign was a great reminder of why I love blogging. This campaign helped me to reflect back on my 3 years of blogging and understand why I started out in the first place. Today's post is recap of the campaign and I will be highlighting some of my favorite moments from the event.

WHAT I LEARNED
  • We need diverse blogging voices so don't be afraid to be yourself. While I understand that finding one's blogging voice is much easier than done, it is possible so we just need to keep working on it.
  •  We need diverse content. It's easy to keep churning out mindless, generic posts but I think bloggers should take a chance and experiment with different platforms and mediums to bring in some variety to the blogosphere.
  • Give priority to backlist titles - Sometimes really amazing books get pushed back in favor of the newer releases especially because of all the ARC frenzy and whatnot. We as bloggers can do so much more to give the spotlight that older titles deserve.
  • Connect - Reaching out to bloggers and readers isn't as hard as you think it is. So yes, go ahead and say hello!
  • Be the blogger you want to follow.

WHAT I ENJOYED
  • All the positivity - It's was incredible to see Jillian's campaign succeed in what she set out to do. The blogosphere is definitely a better place thanks to all the wonderful bloggers who participated in the event!
  • The great content - I did a lot of blog hopping via the campaign and stumbled across so many wonderful posts.
  • Meeting new bloggers was definitely the highlight of this event!
  • New ideas + thoughts! Most of the bloggers who participated in the campaign were fairly new to the blogosphere so they had so much to bring into their discussions.

MY FAVORITE #BPC2015 POSTS
BLOGGERS WHO INSPIRED ME

Jillian, the host of this brilliant event inspired me with her touching post, an open letter to Meggie Folchart on her blog, Jillian's Books. It was a beautiful reminder of the power we readers hold.

I simply loved Joan's letter to her favorite heroine. You can find her uplifting post along with other great content on her blog, Fiddler Blue.

  1. I smiled reading through this post, Nuz! When I made this campaign, I didn't anticipate it to be so huge; I didn't expect a lot of people to react so much on it in Twitter. But so far, good things have been happening -- such as the widespread positivity and the heartwarming posts that everyone wrote. I enjoyed my time reading through everyone's post most of all, and I discovered new ones as well, which was great.

Thank you for mentioning me, for supporting, and for participating this event! I wouldn't have done this without you and the other bloggers who participated as well ♥

  2. This post definitely got me inspired! You're right - we need diversity. We don't need to be like everybody else because being different is what draws people towards you. And I agree, I've been catching up with my TBR - which are full of year-or-more-old releases - and some of them are pretty good!

Also, thank you so much for the mention on your post. It makes me happy to know it touched your heart. I'm glad I found out about your blog through this campaign. :)

  4. Oh dear, I'm rather sad that I missed out on this campaign - it sounds like it was such a beautiful and bright thing for the blogosphere, and a timely reminder for the New Year. I absolutely agree in that we need diversity in blogging, as in all things. That is, after all, what makes this small corner of the universe so special. xx
