My Book Haul #4

In My Mailbox is a weekly event hosted by The Story Siren and Stacking the Shelves is a weekly event hosted @ Tynga's Reviews.

As a part of my new year resolution I was hoping NOT to buy a lot of books since my TBR pile is so huge and I've a LOT of ebooks that I've put on hold for about six months.

And as usual my plans to be good this year were foiled when I won an Amazon Giftcard,I couldn't let the card go to waste so I decided to go on a little shopping spree and got some super awesome books!

See that was soooo not my fault. *smirks*

So here's what I bought :

Paperbacks -

Fire - Kristin Cashore
Absolutely loved Graceling so I'm really looking forward to this one!
Lots of hype, hope it doesn't disappoint.
I'm a huge Dystopian book junkie so had to get my hands on this one!
My first experience with Steampunk wasn't very satisfying so I'm giving the genre another try.

“A lyrical, shuddersome novel whose images linger with you long after you've turned the last page, like the most haunting of dreams.” --Cassandra Clare, author of The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices
I HAD to buy it plus it was great bargain for $16.

Hardcover -

Again lots of hype & Dystopian
One Word - Tobias.
The protagonist is an assassin. In a Red Dress.Need I say more?
More Bad Ass Heroines.

Paperback - The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson
This was an impulsive buy,the blurb promises lots of action so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Won In Giveaways -

(Hardcover SIGNED) Prophecy Of The Sisters - Michelle Zink
Gothic Fantasy-Looks promising.
(Paperback) Die For Me - Amy Plum
Paris,Insta-Love and Revenants-A surprisingly good read.
(Paperback) Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card
Reading this one right now-I'll never look at 6 year olds the same way now.Majorly Disturbing.
(Paperback SIGNED)  In Your Dreams - Amy Martin
Nacrolepsy is a new one for me,really enjpyed this one!
(Paperback SIGNED) Troubles & Treats - Tara Sivec
If you haven't read Tara Sivec's books let me tell you that you are missing out BIG time-She's so frigging hilarious!

For Review -

(Paperback SIGNED) Terra - Gretchen Powell
Loved this one, review will be up soon!

So tell me what were the additions to your bookshelves?
Which of these books did you love/hate?

  3. You liked Graceling? TRUST ME - you will LOVE Fire even more. Fire is my favorite of Kristin's three books. And the WAKE trilogy is so so good! Although, well, I'll let you read them - I don't want my opinion of the end to spoil anything! I loved Die for Me, and Until I Die is such a geat sequel. Can't wait for If I Should Die!

    Happy reading!

  8. I didn't enjoy Fire as much as I did Graceling, mainly because Kaysa and Po weren't even there. I didn't think Under the Never Sky was deserving of all the hype but you might love it. Heaps of people certainly did. Grave Mercy and Ender's Game sound really interesting so I might give it story myself. I don't have a haul this week. I don't think I had some last week either. It's been a slow couple of week's reading for me. Ridiculously behind on the reading and the review writing. Hopefully I'll be up to date with everything after this week.

    Enjoy your haul!

  9. Wow, what an epic haul! So jealous! I've read Graceling, and it was pretty good, so I'm gonna have to get Fire soon. I've also read Everneath and, in my opinion, it didn't disappoint at all! And OMG you got Grave Mercy (best book ever) and Defiance (another favorite). I loved those books so much! I hope you enjoy reading all these amazing books!!! :D

  13. I was sort of surprised by how much I enjoyed Die for Me, too. But I really did like it. I haven't read the second in the series yet, though. I'm waiting until the final book is out so I can read them back to back.

Anyway, enjoy all your goodies. Happy reading :)

  19. Hahaha personally I can totally relate on the promising myself not to buy more books statement. I have a bunch of books for review I've been putting off for later so I promised myself I wouldn't buy or request any more. Yeah, that didn't work xD I've already read a good chunk of my TBR pile but there's still some left and they aren't going to get read and reviewed if I keep on buying other books..... which I'm totally doing ;) Great haul and I hope you enjoy all your books!!
