The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.
Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.
But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

My Thoughts
Seven Things I Love
About You: Crash Into You – Katie McGarry
Dear Crash Into You,
1) I love that your writing grabbed me from the first line and kept me reading through out the night until 3AM in the morning. The writing was simply riveting. Katie is truly an extraordinary storyteller.
2) I loved that you made me swoon(over both the cars and the hotties!), drove me crazy, made me giggle and left me breathless. The dual POVs gave me so much insight into both Isaiah and Rachel-I absolutely adored reading Isaiah's side of the story and discovering Isaiah through Rachel's eyes was definitely an exhilarating treat!
“Maybe this is what happens when you fall in love. On the outside a lighter is nothing amazing, but it holds all the ingredients that can create something wonderful. With a few pushes in the right direction, you can inspire something so brilliant that it pushes back the darkness.”
3) I love that I fell in love with your hero and heroine. Rich, sheltered and sweet Rachel with her overprotective brothers that drove her insane, the dead sister whom she could never live up to and parents who couldn't accept that Rachel's not her dead sister. And Isaiah the foster kid who has had his heart broken a few too many times.
4) I loved that the romance was the kind that leaves me breathless. It was intense, tender and passionate all at once and I couldn't help but root for Isaiah and Rachel!
"I feel like a mouse with you," I whisper. "The one that's already been caught by the cat."
That's when he touches me. Isaiah runs his hand through my hair, and every cell in my body vibrates with the gentle pull. "Rachel."
"Yes." It's hard to breathe.
"Kiss me."
Only one other person in my life would risk everything for me. That's Noah. Our bond is one forged through the blood of battles won and lost in the system. We understand each other. Get each other. Have each other's back. We're surviving warriors.
6) I love that you didn't forget to shine the spotlight on the secondary characters. Abby, Logan and Rachel's brothers were distinct characters who left a mark and left me wanting to know more about them.
7) I love that with the end of Isaiah and Rachel's story begins another amazing story featuring West, Rachel's brother. Your introduction to him in Crash Into You has definitely left me craving for more!

I only recently found out that the next book would be West's story, and now I really can't wait to get my hands on it. I'm so glad you enjoyed this, Nuzaifa! I'm enjoying it a lot at the moment and agree that Katie McGarry's writing has an unputdownable quality about it. I'm whizzing through it right now. Brilliant review! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear that you are enjoying it too, Sam! I know, the best part was finishing Isaiah's story only to find that it's not over. I can't wait for Take Me On either! :D
DeleteThanks, Sam. :)
So happy to read such an amazing review! Can't wait to finally read it! I have to wait a little longer for the UK version, though (I'm trying to forget how hideous the cover is, to be honest, but hey, it's the writing that counts). Thank you for reviewing it for us :) xx
ReplyDeleteI know I was a little disappointed to see the UK cover too! :( But I really hope you enjoy it, Eva-Thank you so much for dropping by! :)
DeleteGlad you loved this one so much :) I was really, really hoping that the next book would be about Abby, but I will have to wait!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by! Jen @ YA Romantics
Me too, but I think Abby's getting her own books so we just have to wait. ;)
DeleteYay glad you loved this one Nuz! I adored PTL and DYT so looking forward to finally reading this! :)
ReplyDeleteI REALLY hope you enjoy CIY, Danielle. Thanks for stopping by! :)

ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Take Me On either, Vivien! We only have to wait till May 2014 so Yay! :D
DeleteThanks for stopping by! :)
I really like this review style! So creative :D
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that there was an emphasis on family and friends in this novel- although it didn't overshadow the romance- which was clearly the main driving force for the plot haha.
I actually think that the minor characters were a bit underdeveloped, to be honest. But the interesting ones get their own books, so I think it's fine :P
Aw thanks, Nara-I'm so glad you like it! :)
DeleteYes the interesting ones do get their own books, the teaser from Take Me On at the end of the book was simply amazing right?!
I actually haven't read the teaser! I tend not to read excerpts and things from books unless they're ones I'm ridiculously excited for :P
DeleteI still can't get myself to write a review for this.I can't describe how I felt about this book.It left me speechless.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how you are going to write this one after you mentioned the idea, and this is great:)
Love the review,Nuz.
I can totally relate to that, Mishma. Sometimes you love a book so much that you can't exactly put your thoughts into coherent sentences!
DeleteThank you so much-I'm so glad to hear that you like it! :)
BAHAHAHAH. AGREE TO all of your points. If not for Rachel, this book would've gotten a 5 star rating from me. There was a scene in the book that she really got into my nerves. I mean I understand her insecurities given her condition but if it already borders around having no self preservation then I'm going to have to put down my foot. Poor Isiah, he just wanted to be the knight in shining armour but Rachel considered his protection as undermining her capability. I didn't see it that way at all.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, awesome review, Nuz.
Agree with all*
ReplyDeleteNice list of reasons
ReplyDeleteAw! Thanks! :)
