Now, all I want is to be free to make my own choices.
Dane Wright is everything I have been warned to stay away from. We met one night while I was with my perfect, parent-approved boyfriend and I haven’t stopped thinking about him. I don’t want to like him. I am doing everything I can to ignore his pull, but my heart seems to want what it cannot have, what it has never had.
Can he measure up? He may think I am too good for him, but maybe he is too good for me.
Life is a series of choices and I have never been able to make my own. Until one day, when my heart decides to make a choice for me.
Recommended for mature readers due to sexual content and language.

My Thoughts
In Plastic Hearts, we will meet two persons who have very different lives and grew up in very different environments, but both of them were also stuck in such complicated families and I loved that similarity that they shared. In the beginning of the story, Alex was still with Ryan and it was kind of sad for me to see them part ways so early because I haven't really known much about Ryan, and I'd love to see what they did in the past and how they really developed. Their relationship was an example of a friends-to-lovers one, and it didn't really work out and then, we meet Dane. Another swoon worthy guy that I REALLY LOOOOVE BY THE WAY. *happy sigh* He's hot and handsome and boy, he knows it!
At first, I didn't like Dane that much, but I've learned to love his playfulness. And plus, he's a good dancer. Tee hee. Well anyway, I understand what Alex was going through in this story. Not that my family controls my every move, but then, I think we're both the kind of people who cares about what others think and what will make them happy. Alex has very controlling parents. I can't imagine living her life, with her parents dictating her every move, from what she wears to what she eats, I mean, who does that? :( But then I guess there are really those kinds of people, who likes control and not going with the flow.
I know how hard it was for Alex to make a decision about her relationship with Ryan. He was her comfort, her safe place. But then, she wants something more... And I'll quote Alex on this:
"I wanted the type of love I could feel from head to toe, the type where I felt every kiss deep down in the pit of my stomach, the type where the mere mention of his name made me smile from ear to ear and ignited a passion within me so strong that even on our worst days our love was better than any other love around us."
I'm not going to lie, I want that kind of love too. :)
I only had a few issues with Plastic Hearts. I think the development of the story was a bit too fast for my taste. And I also felt that the ending was kind of rushed, that it all happened too easily and too fast. But still, I am looking forward to the next book because I really want to know more about what will the next step be for Alex and Dane. Will she still stand up for herself? Will they be happy together forever? 'Cause I'd really love that! And also, I'd like to know more about Dane and his past and how he really changed. Maybe a POV from him would fix this? Because it's really hard guessing what's going on in Dane's head and I was kind of surprised how much of a good boy he really is. Totally did not expect that. I thought I'd see him fool around and just play with Alex's heart but guess I was wrong.
I like the raw emotions that the characters showed in the story. There was so much passion and so much love between Dane and Alex. They were like teenagers going out for the first time together. They can't seem to get enough of each other, and I think that is adorable.
This story is just right for me. The roller coaster of emotions, the romance, the dilemmas, the family issues all in one great story. Not too heavy, not too light. Some parts of it shocked me, especially things about Alex, and about Dane's past. And I am so looking forward to Glass Hearts. :)
Plastic Hearts taught me to follow my heart, and be brave enough to make sacrifices for my own happiness. It can mean losing everything, but it can also mean gaining something so much more.
QUOTES THAT I LOVE FROM PLASTIC HEARTS:
"Plastic hearts are made so they cannot be broken."
"Dane was the most exciting and scariest thing to ever enter my plastic world."
"Dane was the half that makes me whole."
"I can’t think of one thing you could do to make me stop loving you.”
"There was no rehab for a broken heart; it was up to me to make things better."
"Things that were never together weren’t meant to be fixed.""Life was full of truths that don’t play out in romance novels."
